February is all about the heart! In addition to celebrating romance (Valentine's Day).....it's also Heart Disease Awareness month. In honor of that - we are going to be knitting lots of hearts! Also - for every purchase made during the month of February - a dollar will be put into a "heart fund" . At the end of the month, we'll be sending off a check directly to a local hospital for their cardiac unit.

Open Knit Times: (Ongoing)
Tues 8:30am Mission Knitting (chemo hats, prayer shawls, knitting for soldiers, baby needs)
Tues 6:00pm Beginners/Tutoring/Troubleshooting.....Come and learn, get help, or just knit and hang out. The yarn parlor is open until 9:00pm.
Wed 10:00am The Wild Bunch......open knitting and wild conversation.....no topic is left unaddressed! It's a fun group and always welcoming to newcomers!
Sat 9:00am Mother/daughter (or Grandma or Aunt) : ).........geared to the young but mom's are welcome, too! Coffee and treats are always available, too!
Classes
There are several people making the Great North American Afghan - though some have opted to do the Aran Afghan. They're all gorgeous - so you sure can't go wrong! I'd love to have a photo of people's completed squares toward the end of February......I'll let you know the date!
Feb 2................6:00pm Heart Dishcloth Whether you use cotton or corn fiber - this is a cute dishcloth! Uses size 6 or 7 needles.
Feb 4........................2:00pm Heart Mittens. This is a fair Isle mitten pattern.......uses size 5 magic loop or double points.
February 5 & 12........1:00pm ............Pretty red (or pink, or purple, or some other color) scarves to wear for Valentine's Day......choose from Tutu, Aria, Kitten, Beautiful or whatever looks good to you! We'll be making fast and easy scarves to dress ourselves up!
February 9 & 13...........6:00pm Double Knit Heart Headband A great way to learn to double knit!
February 11................3:00pm "I (heart)" baby sweaters. This is top down baby sweater (size 0-3, 6-9, 12, 18, or 24 mo), V neck with Latvian braid neck edge and seed stitch cuff on sleeve and sweater bottom. You can "I (heart)" whatever you want......Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, the Packers, the Vikings, Puppies, Kittens.......you choose. Uses DK or Worsted Wt Yarn and size 6 24 inch circular needles.
February 16 & 23............11:00am or 6:00pm...........Heart Lapghan/Pillow. We'll be knitting a heart square using intarsia which can be made into a pillow OR could be the first of a dozen heart squares that could be made into an lapghan.
